Common Expressions: Dg

Expressions Definition
DG 307 (band) The band was founded by the guitarist Mejla Hlavsa and the poet Pavel Zajíček in the early 70's in Prague, former Czechoslovakia. Later, Hlavsa, who played in a more known band The Plastic People of the Universe, left DG 307, few years after it he was jailed because of his artistic rebellion, which wasn't acceptable for the communistic government. Pavel Zajíček had to leave Czechoslovakia because of the same reasons as Hlavsa was jailed for, he lived in Sweden and after the velvet revolution in 1989 he could come back. He restored the band and became the lead reciter. Today, the band is -together with The Plastic People of the Universe and Psí vojáci- a legend of Czech alternative (underground) scene and has its own, inimitable image. (references)
