Hallam's GreekLiterature1: Byron, in his English Bards, etc., speaks of "classic Hallam, much renowned for Greek," referring to "Hallam's severe critique on Payne Knight's Taste, in which were some Greek verses most mercilessly lashed. The verses, however, turned out to be a quotation from Pindar."
