| Joy extensible conveyor | Mining | A belt conveyor to serve between a loader or continuous miner and the main transport. It consists of two main units, a head and a tail section, each mounted on crawler tracks and independently driven. In operation, the tail unit (i.e., the receiving end) moves forward with the loading machine, and belting is automatically released from a loop takeup. Fifty feet (15 m) of advance is possible before additional belting has to be inserted into the conveyor run. Capacity equals 280 st/h (254 t/h) with a 30-in (76-cm) belt. (references) | |
