| Sound exposure level | Physics | The squared weighted sound pressure integrated or summed over time reference to the standard pressure squared times one second and then converted to a level. This, if a sound having a level of 90 dB persists for 1 second the s. e. l. produced by that sound is 90 dB. If that sound persists for 10 seconds, the sound exposure level is 100 dB.
