| Pleven's Epopee 1877 | Nowadays, there are 33 panoramas all over the world. The one with greatest dimensions is built in Pleven, approximately 170 kilometers to the northwest of Sofia. Pleven is one of the largest Bulgarian cities with a history of a millennium and full with historical sights. Pleven became internationally famous with the five-month battles during the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-78 as a result of which Bulgaria was liberated after a 500 year yoke. The panorama Pleven - 1877 depicts these events combining painting, plastics and architecture in a whole art work.
