Dracunculus vulgaris
Dracunculus vulgaris is a species of aroid in the genus Dracunculus sometimes known as Voodoo lily. It was introduced to the United States from another country or countries and is currently present in the states of Oregon, California and Tennessee as well as the country of Puerto Rico.[1] The natural habitats of the strange flower are in Europe around the Balcans. The species is characterised by a large purple spathe and spadix which smells very unpleasant like carcass. That's because the pollinators of this aroid are some flies like the Lucilia and others. The plant traps them in its own inflorescence for one night and at the next day It releases them with a plenty of pollen.
