Buttonweed (Diodia) is a genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae, native to temperate and tropical regions of North America and Africa.

There are also many species of "false" buttonweeds in the related genus Spermacoce.

The Velvetleaf Abutilon (Abutilon theophrasti) in the family Malvaceae is also sometimes known by the common name of buttonweed.
