Black-eyed pea The black-eyed pea, also called black-eyed bean, blackeye, lobiya or chawli, is a subspecies of the cowpea, grown for its medium-sized edible bean, pale-colored with a prominent black spot. Its currently accepted botanical name is Vigna unguiculata subsp. unguiculata, although previously it was classified in the genus Phaseolus. Vigna unguiculata subsp. dekindtiana is the wild relative and Vigna unguiculata subsp. sesquipedalis is the related asparagus bean. (references)

Black-eyed Susan The black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta) is a flowering plant in the family Asteraceae. It is an upright annual (sometimes biennial or perennial) native to the United States East of the Rocky Mountains. The black-eyed Susan has been the state flower of Maryland since 1918, when it was designated the "Floral Emblem" of Maryland. (references)

Black-eyed Susan Aerospace Black-eyed Susan is a native herb that grows across southern Canada. This plant occurs in fields and is sometimes found in disturbed habitats. Ingesting plants caused poisoning in cattle and swine. Symptoms were mild. Poisoning from this plant is unlikely (Kingsbury 1964, Fleurbec 1983). Ingesting aboveground portions of the plants has caused poisoning in some animals (Kingsbury 1964). Swine that ingested black-eyed Susan suffered from coma and periods of aimless wandering (Kingsbury 1964). General symptoms of poisoning: 1- Cattle: gastroenteritis; and 2- Swine: coma. (references)
