Audubon Ballroom (Honorverse) The Audobon Ballroom is an terrorist organization in the Honorverse, a fictional universe based upon the Honor Harrington series David Weber. The Ballroom, as it is informally referred to, is dedicated to fighting genetic slavery, and specializing in public assassination and other publicly visible actions against those who are involved in the slavery. All members of the Audobon Ballroom are themselves escaped genetic slaves, and all members are proscribed through nearly all of the Galaxy as terrorists. Nevertheless, there are a handful of people who are, while not members, sympathize with the Ballroom's goals if not always with its actions. Audubon Nature Institute The Audubon Nature Institute is family of museums and parks dedicated to nature based in New Orleans, Louisiana. It includes the Audubon Zoo and the Aquarium of the Americas. (references)
Audubon Park in New Orleans Audubon Park is a city park located in New Orleans. The park is approximately six miles to the west of the city center of New Orleans and sits on land that was purchased by the city in 1871. The park became active after the World Cotton Centennial of 1884 was held on the land. It is bordered on one side by the Mississippi River and on another by the Tulane and Loyola Universities. Audubon Parkway The Audubon Parkway is a four-lane controlled-access toll road connecting the cities of Henderson and Owensboro, Kentucky. It is 24 miles (38.6 km) in length. Audubon Zoo The Audubon Zoo is a zoo located in New Orleans and is part of the Audubon Nature Institute. The zoo is 58 acres (235,000 m²) and is home to 2,000 animals. It opened in 1938, as the Merz Memorial Zoo in the Audubon Park, prior to this there had been a flight cage in the park since 1914. In the 1950s the zoo was renamed in honor of artist and naturalist John James Audubon who lived in New Orleans starting in 1821. (references)
