| Aladdin's lamp | Aladdin's lamp is the subject of a story in the Arabian Nights. A young boy Aladdin acquires a magic oil lamp that, when rubbed, brings forth a genie who is prepared to grant his every wish. Aladdin uses his wishes to win the hand of the sultan's daughter and to build a magnificent palace. However, the magician who gave Aladdin the lamp steals it back, but eventually Aladdin recovers the lamp and lives happily every after. (references) | ||
