Worth is a village located in Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 11,047.Geography
Worth is located at 41°41'20" North, 87°47'34" West (41.688827, -87.792659)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.2 km² (2.4 mi²). 6.2 km² (2.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.83% water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 11,047 people, 4,383 households, and 2,796 families residing in the village. The population density is 1,792.1/km² (4,634.4/mi²). There are 4,513 housing units at an average density of 732.1/km² (1,893.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 92.43% White, 1.59% African American, 0.18% Native American, 1.22% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 2.18% from other races, and 2.37% from two or more races. 6.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 4,383 households out of which 29.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.4% are married couples living together, 12.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.2% are non-families. 30.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.48 and the average family size is 3.15. In the village the population is spread out with 23.5% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 31.4% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 14.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 96.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.0 males. As of the census of 2000, there are 234 people, 96 households, and 67 families residing in the town. The population density is 2.1/km² (5.4/mi²). There are 259 housing units at an average density of 2.3/km² (6.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 93.59% White, 3.42% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.99% from two or more races. 1.28% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
