Worth is a village located in Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 11,047.

Geography


Worth is located at 41°41'20" North, 87°47'34" West (41.688827, -87.792659)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.2 km² (2.4 mi²). 6.2 km² (2.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.83% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 11,047 people, 4,383 households, and 2,796 families residing in the village. The population density is 1,792.1/km² (4,634.4/mi²). There are 4,513 housing units at an average density of 732.1/km² (1,893.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 92.43% White, 1.59% African American, 0.18% Native American, 1.22% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 2.18% from other races, and 2.37% from two or more races. 6.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 4,383 households out of which 29.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.4% are married couples living together, 12.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.2% are non-families. 30.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.48 and the average family size is 3.15. In the village the population is spread out with 23.5% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 31.4% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 14.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 96.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.0 males. The median income for a household in the village is $42,723, and the median income for a family is $51,523. Males have a median income of $38,007 versus $28,492 for females. The per capita income for the village is $19,449. 9.3% of the population and 7.0% of families are below the poverty line. Worth is located at 40°24'20" North, 94°26'49" West (40.405489, -94.447079)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 94 people, 39 households, and 26 families residing in the town. The population density is 145.2/km² (378.8/mi²). There are 50 housing units at an average density of 77.2/km² (201.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.94% White, 0.00% African American, 1.06% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 39 households out of which 33.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% are married couples living together, 10.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% are non-families. 23.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.41 and the average family size is 2.88. Worth is a town located in Jefferson County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 234.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 112.2 km² (43.3 mi²). 111.9 km² (43.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.21% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 234 people, 96 households, and 67 families residing in the town. The population density is 2.1/km² (5.4/mi²). There are 259 housing units at an average density of 2.3/km² (6.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 93.59% White, 3.42% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.99% from two or more races. 1.28% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 96 households out of which 32.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.3% are married couples living together, 4.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.2% are non-families. 25.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.44 and the average family size is 2.93.
