MEDIAL TEST

Specialty Definition: MEDIAL TEST

DomainDefinition

Mathematics

A graphical test of association between two variates. The scatter diagram for the pairs of observations is divided into four quadrants by lines, parallel to abscissa and ordinate, passing through the medians of the variates. Association is judged by the number of points falling into the positive quadrant as compared with the number expected, namely one quarter of the observations, on the hypothesis of no association.
