Mining

A. A device resembling a Venturi meter that directs a jet of compressed air for ventilating short headings. The device is commonly made at a mine, and one well-proved type is called the Modder Deep. These blowers are mainly used in conjunction with ventilation ducting for the ventilation of headings several hundred feet in length b. An apparatus to induce a flow of air or gas in a duct by means of a jetof compressed air or water from a small nozzle in the duct. (references)
