Cabot is a town located in Washington County, Vermont. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,213.Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 99.8 km² (38.5 mi²). 96.6 km² (37.3 mi²) of it is land and 3.2 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.22% water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 1,213 people, 452 households, and 319 families residing in the town. The population density is 12.6/km² (32.5/mi²). There are 634 housing units at an average density of 6.6 persons/km² (17.0 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 95.96% White, 0.08% African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.33% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.25% from other races, and 3.13% from two or more races. 0.66% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 452 households out of which 36.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.1% are married couples living together, 8.8% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 29.4% are non-families. 21.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 3.11. In the town the population is spread out with 28.4% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 10.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 98.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.9 males. The median income for a household in the town is $43,092, and the median income for a family is $49,205. Males have a median income of $31,544 versus $25,000 for females. The per capita income for the town is $18,585. 7.5% of the population and 4.4% of families are below the poverty line. Cabot is located at 34°58'22" North, 92°1'20" West (34.972647, -92.022329)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 49.7 km² (19.2 mi²). 49.5 km² (19.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.47% water.Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 15,261 people, 5,432 households, and 4,329 families residing in the city. The population density is 308.2/km² (798.2/mi²).
