Agile is a term sometimes applied to programming languages that are well-suited to a wide variety of tasks, can be used in a wide variety of ways, permit rapid prototyping, or in general are easy to use but also powerful.

The term dates from around April 2003 and, thus far, has mostly been applied to Python. To a lesser extent, other scripting languages such as Ruby are sometimes described as agile.
