An early-1990s program to update the information in the TIGER(r) database as local governments established new city-style address systems, and to determine the feasibility of using local information to insert geocodable noncity-style addresses into the Master Address File and their address ranges in the TIGER(r) database. It was replaced by the 1996 Address System Information Survey. (references)
